Why is your name the "Lutheran" Library?
Lutherans were originally called Evangelicals. They put the preserved Word of God above the laws and traditions of the church of their day. Their Protestant Reformation took the Bible out of the hands of the priestly class and returned it to God’s people where it belongs.
Real Lutherans are Bible believing Christians.
The Lutheran Library Publishing Ministry stands with John Huss and the 50 million Bible Christians who were killed for their faith during the Counter-Reformation.
Most churches have forgotten why the Lutheran Reformation was so important. As a result, you may find that you have to seek your learning outside of church if you wish to grow as Christian. Youtube has some good material, but you can do better.
The most important things to remember:
You can trust the Bible
It is inerrant, infallible, and has been preserved intact. It’s the right of every Christian to have it, read it, and understand it without the requirement of a priest or minister to correct or explain it. See Means of Grace
There is no higher, priestly class of Christians
We are all equal - though there are different roles for the sake of order. See Christian Equality
Only Believers in Christ are Justified
Being justified by faith - trusting in what Christ accomplished - we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. See Justification
In Summary
Eliminate the centrality of the Bible, the priesthood of all Believers, and Justification by Faith and the Dark Ages return. The visible church will again become a means of tyranny rather than freedom. Many see this as a good thing, God deliver them!
Yet, God continues to save sinners one by one, you and I, through the power of His Word to create faith in those who hear it and do not resist.
God knows them that are His. Amen!
