π New Website for 2025
Summary (TL/DR)
The Lutheran Library website has been updated for 2025. The biggest changes you may notice are better options for browsing and finding books.
Why this change?
The website has been created using Hugo, an underlying language for “static” web development. Hugo continues to undergo significant changes, rendering older versions obsolete.
As the number of books in the Lutheran Library has increased, the version of Hugo we have been using has grown slower and slower on the 2013 Thinkpads we use for development at the Lutheran Library. For the last year it has been obvious that an upgrade from Hugo 0.79 to 0.140 had to happen.
Keywords, Subjects and Tags
All of the Lutheran Library publications now have consistent keywords. This should make browsing and finding books much easier whether you are accessing the site from a laptop, desktop, or mobile device. Try it and see what you think.
π Search
The new search in this version of the Lutheran Library updates each time a book is added to the site.
There is a Hugo Blox bug in the display of the search results. As soon as a fix is available, we will update the Lutheran Library website.
If you care to help
Your encouragement always means a lot to us. If you wish to help:
- Send a note when you think of it. It doesn’t have to be long or fancy!
- Tips of any amount bring a smile to our face.
- If you have a recent x or t series Thinkpad you’re not using and would like to gift to us, that would be a blessing.
- Keep us in your prayers.
- Most of all, pray that these books will find their way to those who are seeking them, whoever and wherever they may be.
May the Lord bless all of us in this year to come, such that we may each “brighten the corner where we are”.
God’s grace be with you now and always. Amen!
